The character of the story is Silas Marner.He is a Weavers.Because of his friend's betrayal ,Silas Marner had been accused of a thief and had to leave his hometown .At the same time,he broke the marriage with his girlfriend.He lost confidience in people.Graally ,he became a miser .He consider money as his friend.However, the money saved for fifteen years has all been stolen.He became a penniless pauper.At the time he was about to give up his life in despair,he met a three-year-old boy.The little boy changed his attitude towards life.He hosted the abandoned child and re-find the meaning of life. Silas Marner is one of George Eliot's most admired and loved works.The story stressed the importance of the moral concepts of retribution.I think it worth reading. 抱抱哈 我水平有限~！就这些咯 我乱翻的~不知道行不行呀 我借鉴了高考词汇手册 努力了老半天就翻了这些 囧
